The
way you avoid long losing streaks
is to not lose for long stretches of
time. Sounds pretty simple doesn't it?
It is very simple but very few people
know when to walk away.
Once
you learn to quit quick, you will
actually begin to enjoy your gambling
sessions much more, even on those days
when you can't seem to catch that big
break. Why? You're not losing a lot.
When you lose, it is in a
controlled environment which is designed
to allow you to take some risks,
enjoy it when they pay off but not feel
the deep dig when things aren't working
for you because you make yourself walk
away when your luck isn't on.
When
You've Gambled Too Long
In
fact that is what I am doing right now.
I went back to the casino where I had
previously experienced a losing session.
Only $10 remained in my account. Using
my banking strategy of increasing my
bets when winning and cutting back to
minimum wager when losing, I was able to
leave the casino with $62 sitting in my
account.
After
reading how far I had my account up to
at one point, you may say to yourself
well that isn't quitting quick at all,
but if you break it down then you'll see
I actually did quit quick
I
actually had it up to three digits
for a short period. But please
understand that at that point i had
worked my way up to bets that were in
the $15 to $18 range, so when you take
that into consideration then it is not
all that hard to imagine how I ended up
with only $62 in an account that I had
worked up to over a hundred but if you
consider that i lost even two bets that
size ... it takes a $100 down to close
to $60.
The great thing about the convenience of
online gambling is that you can walk
away when you're not getting lucky
because the game is always right there
ready to be and when you are
feeling lucky, there is no long drive to
get between you and your luck. No
frustrating traffic. Just you and the
environment in which you probably feel
the most safe of any place in the world.
The comfort of your own home.
So
when you're feeling lucky or want to see
if your luck is working for you, simply
log in, make a few bets and then act
accordingly. If luck is with you then
continue on but if you've just been
getting your ass kicked, understand it
is unlikely that things are going to
change right at that time, so instead of
playing out all your bankroll, stop when
it becomes obvious that this isn't your
time. Even waiting an hour and coming
back can be the difference.
Bet More When Winning,
Less When Losing
I
also subscribe to the theory of betting
more when I'm winning and pulling back
my wagers to the minimum amount allowed
when things aren't going so well.
I
like to have preset limits so that I can
gamble freely without the feeling of
regret because when I entered the casino
I said the most I am going to lose today
is this predetermined amount. Then i
stick to my self-control.
If i
have $100 then I wouldn't want to see
that amount fall below $60 in the one
session of gaming. If i can't turn the
tide into a winning one by the time I
have spent nearly half my bank roll,
then it is my experience that I probably
would lose the entire $100 if I allowed
myself to continue gambling. Right now
is simply not when my luck is working
for me. I must learn to recognize
these times as early as possible because
just as my last gambling session has
proven, that I need as little as only
$10 to be enough for me to parlay it
into a bankroll that is much closer to
an amount that will allow me to really
do some damage. :)
On
the other hand, if I had not made myself
quit gambling when I got down to having
only $10 left, I would have needed to
make another deposit the next time I
decided to gamble, instead of as it
worked out today, where it cost me
nothing to achieve a $60 bankroll.
