Gambling affiliates
and casino portals : how they make their money
A big part of the
problem is far too many casino portal owners will take what they can
get and leave it at that. These are the portals that don't pay to
advertise, they are SEO experts, (search engine optimization)
meaning that if you go to google or yahoo, and type in the search
box a phrase like "online casino", then the first page of results to
come up are sites that have been arranged to capture these prized
spots, since the traffic is free and would otherwise cost up to $20
or more per visit.
Another way to spot
one of these sites is by the extreme number of pop-up ads they turn
loose on you when you visit their page. They know they are getting
their traffic for free, so they aren't really worried about whether
they annoy you or not: they will have plenty of people behind you
which are seemingly endless in supply.
Some portals are owned
by the casinos they list, and they've hired SEO experts to arrange
their sites so that they will rank high in the results for keyword
phrases related to gambling and casinos. There is nothing wrong with
that, but you should be aware so that you know that the information
they provide, is often tainted to make their casinos look better,
and/or the others worse.
If you decide to break
into the casino portal side of the net, I'd strongly urge you to
visit
http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.com/ and get registered
because you'll find out a lot quicker which places cheat you, and
which do not, and this information is often the difference between
making and breaking a site. I should however have you note that the
programs deemed "certified" means that these programs are NOT the
worst of the bunch. NOTHING MORE. You may read or be told
differently, but I have little reason for making this up.
Nearly every program at one time or another has had "less than
shining moments" in respect to their affiliates. If all were
excluded for these times, there would be only about 3 or 4
programs which could be called "certified". Also please note that
just because a program is deemed "Certified", doesn't mean it is
always known for paying players. This site is dedicated to the
affiliates, and concerns itself with their well-being, and not the
players. Amongst the group however is a sub-group consisting of
people like myself who have made their "claim to fame" by taking the
high road and choosing to put players first. We share information
and thus are able to keep rogue casinos off our websites.
