gamble to the hilt on the casino's money sometimes they give it all back. On those times when I am lucky enough to have a player hit it big near the end of the month, although it wipes out my current month's earnings, it usually means the following month will be a big pay-off. Suppose Joe Gambler wins $50k on the 28th of the month. By the 10th or so of the following month, Joe will on the norm have given back about half that,  so from this one gambler I would make over $6,000. And like I said, sometimes they give it all back in which case I'm looking at twice that number. So you can see why I get excited when someone hits it big just as much as they do. My experience tells me that most people will gamble to the hilt on the casino's money, but when they lose a set amount they quit. Now why is that? Simply because they planned on losing that amount eventually. It was just a matter of how long they got to entertain themselves before they lost the amount they'd already pre-determined to lose. And in my opinion that is healthy.  Gambling is, or should be viewed as entertainment. And for most people it is exactly that, entertainment. If you want to get to the truth of it all, the truth is, that you and I spend most of our gambling time .... wasting time. We sit in front of whatever our preferred game may be and if viewed over an extended period of time, we whittle away our money little by little.
