Bonus scams designed to cheat players

Bonus scams designed to trap the player's deposited money into unreasonable play-through terms  are becoming a favorite way to not only rope in new players because they see these unbelievable bonus offers which are available to anyone willing to risk just a small percentage of their own money to get that big bonus. But also because they are a legal way to assure the casino it has little chance of losing because the odds are so great of anyone meeting the extreme play through requirements attached to these bonuses before losing their bank roll. Best of all is the player is the one who has agreed to these terms and nobody can claim the casino did anything wrong. In fact they offered the player all that extra casino cash if they agreed to the terms.

There is a really nasty bonus offer running at the time of this writing at a casino I guarantee (Club USA). The casino is currently the only one using RealtimeGaming software that I trust to pay its players or I'd replace it. Some players have very few choices due to their locations and this is one casino that accepts players from almost any location.

They do make it clear in their terms about what to expect if you accept their bonus ... I just have decided to run a disclaimer to not accept the bonus. See below what I wrote at the local casino portal owner community.

Update !!! As unlikely as I thought possible, debit cards are working to deposit (I used Visa this in April '08) for depositing into Blackjack Ballroom $500 + 1 hr to gamble bonus: keep any profit up to $200. Also get 40% bonus added to 1st deposit.

sigh. I will have to run a warning next to all the links telling players that's how the deal works. - I can't call them out-right scoundrels since they do mention at the end of their long list of terms that if you don't request the bonus via adding in the bonus code ... that you are not bound by those rules.

I still think its tacky.

perhaps the next bonus "offer" might read something like "and if you win any considerable amount you will be paid in manager credits which are good to play at the casino but can never be cashed out for real money unless you're willing to fly over here to our friendly little island somewhere south of the equator and wrestle the man-eating tiger we've imported in for just such an occasion"....
