eCOGRA: updated review
hindsight I realize I may have been too eager to welcome in anything close to
regulation. In my original review of eCOGRA.org I based my assumptions on with
whom they were choosing to associate, which were good places but I noticed at
some point they either removed or relocated the links to many of these places
... of which my sites were included. That is a big no-no amongst webmasters. If
you agree to a link trade the link should stay where it originally was placed.
When they did that was my first hint that things may be amiss because its not
that hard to honor an agreement and just because a website reaches a certain
point of exposure (on the backs of those they made the agreement no less ...) is no excuse
to then conclude that it is okay to not honor agreements made back when they
were unknown. In any case ... here's what I first had to say in my original eCOGRA.org
review.
Original eCOGRA.org predictions
and hopes
Exciting
news on so many levels! For such a very long time now I have sought a
legitimate commission or watchdog-type gambling site to walk hand in hand
with the casinos I guarantee as an extended proof to players I know what I'm
talking about, that these truly are the best casinos online, and as yet
another means besides just that of my own persuasive abilities to have at my
disposal as a means to help insure the player is always treated in an
ethical and dare I say courteous manner? Well I think I have found it in
eCOGRA.org . I'm sure many of you have
already heard of this organization and I'm now proud to announce that
BondedCasinos.com has been added to their list of casino portals
which
in their words "have a history of honest,
professional and player-sensitive conduct with competent conduct"
towards the players.
The reason this excites me beyond the obvious
self-serving motives is that they DID want to list BondedCasinos.com
(because anybody in this niche who knows anything at all knows I am the biggest
pain in the ass to somebody who is not above board, as they'd ever hope
not to meet). And trust me they'd not have welcomed me in so easily if they had
ulterior motives because of that fact. This all tells me that eCogra is serious
about their claims and that they are not just another website created by some
clever folks who have greed as their main motive. Add to that the list of other
casino portals all of which are held in high regard by their peers... And
well it just looks a lot more promising and a lot more like the real deal than
anything that has come along before it.
Remember there is no actual law or commission
these casinos answer to, therefore they can only be counted on to answer to the
one rule they know - which has a dollar sign at the end of it. They don't want
negative publicity. Therefore the more pressure that can be put on them, more
likely it is that a casino will always do the right thing.
We know the games are fair because they're
using a publicly traded software, so the big question is not "is it fixed
so I can't win?" but rather, "will the place pay me if I win?". With that
in mind, it then (if ever should become necessary) becomes a question of who can
apply the most publicity will be sure to get paid - these are the places the
casinos don't want to piss-off. So I put this question to you, the gambler: if
you were the casino owner and you had two people hit a big win and you only had
the inclination or money (usually the problem is the inclination) to pay only one of those two people, who are you going to pay
first? The winner who was signed up thru a search engine, thus likely
doesn't know about such places as my portal or ecogra, or the winner who signed
up with a guarantee thru my site and therefore if cheated has myself and now
ecogra as recourse? The answer is a no-brainer. They aren't even in
the same league!
